Demnach ist IKEv2 am sichersten, strongswan kann das und es ist als vorkompiliertes Binärpaket in FreeBSD 11.1 verfügbar.

> pkg install strongswan
New packages to be INSTALLED:
        strongswan: 5.6.3

im Kernel muss die Option IPSEC eingebunden bzw. einkompiliert worden sein:

> sysctl -a | fgrep -i ipsec
kern.features.ipsec_natt: 1
