Consider updating your NIC driver

UEFI / BIOS

  • ASRock UEFI: Advanced → ACPI Configuration
    • PCIE Devices Power On: Enabled

Windows

Deactivate fast startup

  1. open Power Options (powercfg.cpl)
  2. Choose what the power button does
  3. Change settings that are currently unavailable (possible UAC prompt)
  4. Uncheck: Turn on fast startup (recommended)

Power Options

  1. open Power Options (powercfg.cpl)
  2. Change plan settings (on currently selected plan)
  3. Change advanced power settings (possible UAC prompt)
    • Sleep → Allow wake timers → Setting: Enable
    • PCI Express → Link State Power Management (ASPM) → Setting: Maximum power savings (L1)

NIC (Power Management)

  1. open Network Connections (ncpa.cpl)
  2. right-click the NIC for ethernet (e.g. Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller) → Properties (possible UAC prompt)
  3. Configure…
  4. Power Management
    • Check: Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
    • Check: Allow this device to wake the computer
    • Check: Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer

    • Auto Disable Gigabit: Disabled
    • Energy-Efficient Ethernet: Disabled
    • Gigabit Lite: Disabled
    • Green Ethernet: Disabled
    • Power Saving Mode: Disabled
    • Shutdown Wake-On-Lan: Enabled
    • Wake on Magic Packet: Enabled
    • Wake on magic packet when system is in the S0ix power state: Enabled
    • Wake on pattern match: Disabled
    • WOL & Shutdown Link Speed: 10 Mbps First
